端午节的来历英语作文
端午节(英文为DragonBoatFestival或DoubleFifthFestival)又称为端阳节，为每年的农历5月初五日，在湖北、湖南、贵州、四川一带，端午节又分为大端午与小端午。小端午为每年农历五月初五，大端午为每年农历五月十五日。2010年，6月14日，6月15日，6月16日为法定放假日子。2010年6月16日为端午节。
名字的由来
“端”字有“初始”的意思，因此“端五”就是“初五”。而按照历法五月正是“午”月，因此“端五”也就渐渐演变成了现在的“端午”。《燕京岁时记》记载：“初五为五月单五，盖端字之转音也。”

传说
