A law degree is the first step to a number of careers including a solicitor, barrister or judge. Many universities around the world provide law degrees so it can be difficult to know which is the best one for you.
For the first time, Times Higher Education has ranked the top 100 universities for law degrees. Duke University in the US takes first place followed by Stanford University and Yale University, both also in the US. In fact nearly a third of the universities in the law ranking are located in the US.
The highest ranked university from the UK is the University of Cambridge in fifth place followed by the University of Oxford in sixth. There are 23 UK universities in the ranking in total.
The University of Melbourne is the only Australian university to enter the top 10, taking eighth position. Eight more Australian universities feature in the rest of the ranking.
Times Higher Education subject tables are based on the same 13 performance indicators used in the overall World University Rankings 2018. However, the methodology is carefully recalibrated for each subject, with the weightings changed to suit the individual fields.

在英国，排名最高的剑桥大学，位居第五位。紧接着的是牛津大学，排在第六位。英国总共有23所大学进入排名。
墨尔本大学是澳大利亚唯一进入世界前十排名的大学，位列第八位。澳大利亚共有八所大学进入排名。
和2018年世界大学综合排名一样，《泰晤士高等教育》专业排行榜单也采用了13项评估指标。不同之处在于，世界大学专业排名为了能如实反映世界大学在具体专业上的实力，对每个专业的排名指标权重仔细进行了调整。
