The tuition and fees listed below represent those for Fall 2017, Winter 2018 and Spring 2018. Fees may increase in September 2018. Fees are rounded; therefore, actual charges on your account may be higher or lower. Students are required to pay both tuition and the compulsory ancillary fees each term by the payment deadline.

The following tuition fees are for international graduate students studying in flat-fee programs in the 2017-2018 academic year. The 2017-2018 fees commence September 2017. Fees below do not include compulsory ancillary fees.
Flat-fee students will see a continuance course on their records before the start of each term. Continuance courses are linked to tuition and ancillary fees. Graduate students are expected to be continuously registered year-round and fees are loaded each term, regardless of credit hours.

(2)Graduate students in flat-fee programs are required to be continuously enrolled and pay tuition in all three terms per year (fall, winter and spring), regardless of whether they are registered in any courses.

Tuition is billed based on the number of credits in which a student is enrolled. Fees below do not include compulsory ancillary fees.

(3)Graduate students in fee-per-credit programs will be charged a continuance fee for their continuing work on a major paper, project or thesis for each term extension beyond the normal degree components. The continuation fee will be based on six credits for full-time graduate students, plus ancillary fees.
(4)In addition to the fees above, students are also required to pay compulsory ancillary fees.

3.ANCILLARY FEES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The following are compulsory ancillary fees for international graduate students studying in both flat-fee and fee-per-credit programs in the 2017-2018 academic year. The 2017-2018 fees commence September 2017. Please note: actual charges on your account may be higher or lower.
2017-2018 FULL-TIME ANCILLARY FEES
*Plus fee for spring/summer 2018 U-Pass.
University-wide programs and services focusing on student success: specialized academic support and programming; new student transition programming; leadership development; off-campus housing; career and employment services; and support for graduate students.
Professional health-care services, counselling and mental health support.
Campus-wide health-care services including medical care, chiropractic, massage therapy, nutrition counselling, orthotics, pharmacy and physical therapy.
Upgrades and enhancement of operations, facilities or infrastructure dedicated to student use. Graduate students in the MA in Education and MEd programs are exempt from the Infrastructure and Service Enhancements fees.
General student space overhead, access copyright and campus safety services, including campus ID, Campus Walk, security monitoring and Code Blue stations.
Total access of fitness centre and Campus Field House.
Intercollegiate athletics programs in hockey, soccer, golf, rowing, badminton, curling, dance and women’s lacrosse as approved by referendum.
Intramural program run by Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
Mortgage, capital refresh and operating costs as approved by referendum.
Student Association fee for student-run services, support and outreach; mortgage, capital refresh and operating costs of Student Centre; and student-run radio station.
Software and support provided by IT Services.
All full-time graduate students receive a Universal Transit Pass (U-Pass), which provides unlimited access to Durham Region Transit. Graduate students in the MA in Education and MEd programs are exempt from the U-Pass fee.
Fee set by insurer for extended health/dental services. Full-year payment required in September. Domestic and international students who start their program in January or May will be charged a pro-rated amount for health and dental. They will still be responsible for the full annual amount in the following September. Students who have other coverage can use the student insurance in co-ordination with their current coverage to increase coverage, or they can opt out of the dental and extended health portion of the plan. Please visit the Student Association website for more information and deadline dates for opt out.
UHIP is mandatory for international students. Actual fee set by the insurer and full-year payment required in September. International students who start their program in January or May will be charged a pro-rated amount for UHIP coverage. No ancillary fees will be refunded after the first 10 lecture days in any semester.

The following is an estimation of the cost of living for a single international graduate student while attending UOIT for a 12-month period during the 2017-2018 academic year. Individual spending and lifestyle will vary depending on your personal needs.
Students with families may want to increase the amounts for groceries, meals, miscellaneous and housing expenses for their personal estimation purposes.
The above expenses are estimates in Canadian dollars and are applicable for the 2017-2018 academic year, unless otherwise noted.
