ADMISSION REVIEW PROCESS
The normal basis for admission is completion of the credentials that leadto university admission in your country of study. Given McGill’s competitiveadmission process, applicants from overseas vocational and technical highschools are not normally considered for admission.

(PRC) Senior High School Graduation Diploma
Applicants will be considered for admission on their high school transcript(Grades 1, 2 and midyear grade 3) and all available results of the Huikao exams.Note that SAT cannot be used as a substitute for the Huikao/Academic ProficiencyTest (APT).
The minimum requirements normally are averages of 85% or higher in eachyear and in all prerequisite courses. Many programs are more competitive andwill require higher grades; applicants who present the minimum requirements arenot guaranteed admission.
Applicants from Chinese provinces where the Huikao is not offered mustpresent additional external information of their academic credentials, such asSATI and SATII scores. If admitted to McGill, you must arrange for your schoolto send to McGill University an official final transcript of your complete highschool record, the graduation certificate, and all final HUIKAO results.
If you write the GAOKAO, you must make arrangements to forward to us thefinal official results.
If admitted, you are expected to maintain your level of academicperformance through to the completion of your pre-McGill studies.

2) Proof of English Proficiency
The language of instruction at McGill University is English. You mustdemonstrate the required level of English proficiency prior to admission toMcGill, regardless of citizenship status or country of origin.
In some cases, applicants whose level of English proficiency falls slightlybelow the requirement may be considered for conditional admission. Such selectedcandidates first must complete the appropriate English program at the McGillSchool of Continuing Studies and then may enter the McGill degree program.
The Admissions Office reserves the right to request proof of Englishproficiency from any applicant (regardless of citizenship, country of origin orfirst language) at any time during the review process.
Acceptable means to demonstrate English proficiency:
Institutional versions of the tests below are not acceptable. It is yourresponsibility to ensure official test results are sent to McGill.
When Test of English proficiency is required, results must come directlyfrom the institution/examination board to McGill, and applicants should notattempt to upload the results.
McGill’s strong preference is to receive results electronically, directlyfrom the issuing organization, when possible.
McGill Certificate of Proficiency in English – Language and Culture orEnglish for Professional Communication
Certificate awarded.
Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL)
Overall band score of 70% or better; individual component scores of 60% orbetter.
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
Certificate of Proficiency awarded with a C or better.
Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
Certificate awarded with a B or better.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) – Academicversion
The regular Academic test and the test for UKVI are both accepted. A bandscore of 6.5 or better; individual component scores of 6.0 or better. Forfurther information: IELTS website.
McGill accepts only scores submitted electronically by an IELTS testcenter, and no longer accepts paper TRFs (Test Report Forms) directly from testcentres and candidates. Please contact the test center where you took the IELTStest and request that your test scores be sent electronically to McGill. You canverify receipt of your results directly in Minerva; please allow an appropriatedelay as McGill receives IELTS results on an ongoing basis.
MELAB (University of Michigan English Language Test)
A minimum mark of 85%.
Pearson Test of English – Academic
Overall score of 65 or better; individual component scores of 60 orbetter
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)

The TOEFL institutional code at McGill University is 0935-00.

3) Additional supporting documents
Additional supporting documents (such as recommendation letters andpersonal statements) are only required in the following circumstances:
- You have applied to Architecture, Education, Music, Religious Studiesand/or Social Work
- You have complete the separate application for Major Entrance Scholarshipand/or Financial Aid
- You selected ‘Extenuating Circumstances’ on the application foradmission
If none of the above circumstances apply, additional supporting documentsare not considered in the admission review and should not be submitted.
(3)额外的支持性文件
