Advanced Placement (AP) transfer credit
The University of Waterloo recognizes AP (Advanced Placement) examinationresults and will consider awarding transfer credits for AP courses in whichnormally a minimum final grade of 4 is attained.

Official final AP results must be sent from the College Board directly tothe Admissions Office at Waterloo before we can evaluate transfer credit. Yourfinal AP results must be received by August 4th.

1.The maximum number of transfer credits considered varies depending on theprogram you're admitted to.

3.The Advanced Placement (AP) Transfer Credit Chart for BusinessAdministration and Computer Science Double Degree and Business Administrationand Mathematics Double Degree lists the specific Waterloo and Wilfrid LaurierUniversity transfer credit equivalents for these programs.
4.The transfer credits you receive will be different if you change to aprogram that requires you to transfer from one faculty to another faculty.Please note that in such a situation, a faculty admissions committee reservesthe right to refuse transfer credits.
Details about declining your transfer credits will be emailed to you inJuly/August, once your transfer credits have been assessed.

3.Specific transfer credit courses will not be awarded for courses that aredirectly related to core courses for your degree. That is, the following creditfor AP courses will be given: Biology will be BIOL 1XX, Calculus will be MATH1XX, Chemistry will be CHEM 1XX, Psychology will be PSYCH 1XX, and Physics willbe PHYS 1XX.

You may find that you have covered some of the material in ourfirst term courses but, in most cases, not enough for you to be exempted fromthe entire course without potentially running into academic difficultieslater.
2.The depth and level of problem-solving is very different in ourEngineering programs than in the courses in the systems listed above.
3.As a result, we do not grant first-year course exemptions for APcourses.

Cambridge pre-U principal subject transfer credits for consideration
The University of Waterloo recognizes Cambridge Pre-U courses as excellentacademic preparation for success at the university level and will normallyconsider awarding transfer credits for Cambridge Pre-U Principal Subjects inwhich a minimum final grade of M2 is attained.
