日本庆应义塾大学学生宿舍

Applications to stay in Keio University dormitories are accepted twice ayear: in late January for those wishing to move in at the end of March, and inJuly for those wishing to move in early September.

Exchange students from partner institutions as well as Japanese LanguageProgram students should receive information of housing with Keio's acceptancedocuments.

庆应义塾大学宿舍一年可以申请两次:第一次是一月下旬,针对三月末住校的学生;第二次是七月,针对九月初住校的学生

庆应义塾大学合作大学的交换生和学习日语语言课程的学生可以在庆应义塾大学的录取通知书上查看住宿信息。

Qualification for Application

* International students who (expect to) study at Keio University, and holda college student status visa in principle.

* Students who live in the JASSO dormitories and company housing(shain-ryo) cannot apply. (Those who can apply if they want to move in aftertheir current lease expires.)

*住在日本学生服务组织宿舍和企业宿舍学生不能申请。(当前租期满后有意住校的学生可以申请。)

Keio University offers accommodation for its international faculty andscholars such as visiting research fellows to help contribute to theinternationalization of its education and research.

Applications and requests for housing can be made through your facultyliaison at Keio University.

Eligibility

Individuals appointed as visiting scholars or faculty members by KeioUniversity are eligible. (Please ask your faculty liaison whether or not you areeligible to apply.)

Apartment / Guarantor

住房和担保人

If you are not living in a dormitory/student village arranged by KeioUniversity, you will need to find housing on your own through the people aroundyou and a guarantor. You must know what type of housing suits your needs(distance from school, budget, etc). When students seek private housing inJapan, they will generally be required to have a “guarantor.” Usually studentsare also required to pay a rental deposit, key money and a real estatecommission. This means, essentially, that students need to prepare at least 6months rent in advance to be able to move in. In the downtown area, housingtends to be quite expensive and so most students prefer to live in moreaffordable areas about an hour away.

Japanese students often use a real estate agent or read housing informationmagazines to look for apartments. You may try this method in consultation withyour friends and guarantor. The ability to communicate in Japanese is crucialwhen you approach an agent. Someone who can communicate in Japanese tofacilitate the negotiation process should accompany you. We introduce a realestate agency which has English, Chinese and Korean website, and can be accessedfrom overseas for foreign students who still have some difficulties tocommunicate in Japanese. It provides various plans such as housings with noguarantors required and short term furnished rooms etc.

When renting an apartment, you need a guarantor to co-sign the contractwith you. It becomes the guarantor's responsibility to pay the rent on behalf ofthe tenant if they are unable to do so. Japanese students usually ask theirparents or close relatives to be the guarantor, but it is not easy for aninternational student to find someone who is willing to take on such a financialresponsibility. However, there are some measures that can be taken in order toease the responsibility of the guarantor, which in turn could ease your searchfor one.

租房的时候,需要有担保人共同签字。如果承租人无力支付租金,担保人有责任代表承租人支付租金。日本学生一般让他们的父母或亲戚做担保人,但国际学生不好找担保人。不过也有其他措施可以减轻担保人的责任,这些措施反过来又能帮助你找房。

If, by all means, a cosigner cannot be found, it is possible for KeioUniversity to cosign the lease for the period of study at Keio University.Roommates, however, are limited to family members and other internationalstudents of Keio. Depending on conditions, there are possibilities that yourapplication be rejected. We advice you to consult with the International Centerbefore applying. Please note that we do not accept applications from overseas asan interview with the applicant is required in the screening process.

When signing contracts of any sort in Japan, such as for apartments ormobile phones, be sure to read the contract carefully and understand it fully.Contracts are legal documents, which should be signed with full understanding.Signing contracts without complete understanding of the contents may result inunexpected, severe consequences. If you have any trouble understanding thecontract, be sure to contact the IC or ask a Japanese friend who isknowledgeable in the area.

在日本签合同(比如租房合同、移动电话合同),要认真阅读并透彻理解合同内容。合同属于法律文件,在透彻理解的条件下才能签。没有透彻理解就签订合同,可能会产生意想不到的严重后果。如果理解合同有困难,一定要联系国际中心,或者询问懂日语的日本朋友。
