1. Foreign Student Categories
“Foreign student” must not possess Japanese citizenship, and must eitherpossess a visa status of “student”, or must be able to obtain a visa status of“college student” as stipulated by the Immigration Control and RefugeeRecognition Act by the date of admission. Foreign students are divided into twocategories: Japanese government (the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports,Science and Technology) scholarship foreign students and self-financed foreignstudents.
外国学生指不具有日本公民身份，且持有学生签证，或有能力在入学日期之前获得移民控制与难民认可法案规定的大学生签证的学生。外国学生分为两类：日本政府(文部科学省)奖学金外国学生和自费外国学生。
(1) Japanese Government Scholarship Foreign Student
Japanese government offers them a scholarship which covers travel expensesto and from Japan, tuition, and living expenses while staying in Japan. Japanesegovernment scholarship students are divided into the following threecategories:
- A student recommend by a Japanese embassy or consulate general outsideJapan (Embassy recommendation)
- A student recommended by Mie University (University recommendation)
- A student selected by Mie University after arriving in Japan (Domesticselection)
日本政府为这类学生提供奖学金，奖学金涵盖去日本和回国旅费、学费和在日本居留期间的生活费。日本政府奖学金学生分为以下三个类别：
(2) Self-Financed Foreign Student
“Self-financed foreign student” means a foreign student other than Japanesegovernment scholarship students. Self-financed foreign students are divided intothree categories: foreign-government sponsored students, short-term studentexchange program students, and others.
自费外国学生指日本政府奖学金学生以外的外国学生。自费外国学生分为三类：外国政府赞助的学生、短期交换项目学生和其他学生。
2. Foreign Student Status
There are the following six types of foreign student status at MieUniversity.
(1) Special Auditing Student
A graduate or undergraduate student of an overseas exchange partneruniversity with Mie University who is enrolled at Mie University as an exchangestudent to audit specific subjects.
(2) Special Research Student
A graduate student of an overseas exchange partner university with MieUniversity who is enrolled at Mie University to conduct research under theguidance of his/her academic advisor
(3) Japanese Studies Student
Japanese Studies Student program is intended mainly for Japanese governmentscholarship students (Japanese studies students) recommended by embassies oruniversities who are enrolled as undergraduate students in faculties or schoolsof universities outside Japan which major in Japanese language or culture whenthey come to Japan.
(4) Research Student
This program is for students who conduct research under the guidance oftheir academic advisors at Mie University.
(5) Undergraduate Student
This program is for students who wish to obtain a degree by completing fouryears of undergraduate full-time classes at Mie University (six years in case ofFaculty of Medicine (department of Medicine)).
(6)Graduate Student
This program is for students who wish to obtain a degree by completinggraduate full-time classes at Mie University
(1)特殊旁听生
指所在大学为三重大学海外交流伙伴大学，并且以交换生或旁听特定科目的学生的身份注册三重大学的研究生或本科生;
(2)特殊研究型学生
指所在大学为三重大学海外交流伙伴大学，并且在三重大学注册，在学术指导老师指导下从事研究的研究生;
(3)日语学习学生
日语学习学生课程主要为日本政府奖学金学生(日语学习学生)开设。这类学生由使馆或大学推荐，以本科生身份注册日本以外的学院或学校，并且在来日本之前主修日语语言或文化专业。
(4)研究型学生
(5)本科生
该项目针对有意在三重大学完成四年(医学院为六年)本科全日制学习，获取学位的学生;
(6)研究生
该项目针对有意在三重大学完成三年研究生全日制学习，获取学位的学生。
3. Tuition and Entrance Fees
The following table shows annual tuition, entrance and examination fees forforeign students of the six types of status mentioned above.
*For the students mentioned in “Memorandum for joint education program ofJapanese language between Mie University and Tianjin Normal University”, theirannual tuition is otherwise specified.
*Those fees and tuition above are subject to change
*对于在“三重大学与天津师范大学合作教育日语语言课程契约书”中提到的学生，每年学费另行规定。
*表中费用可以有变。
4. Tuition Exemption
High achieving undergraduate and graduate degree students who are unable topay their tuition for financial reasons may be exempted from tuition.
4.学费减免
高成就的本科生和研究生，如果由于经济原因不能支付学费，可以免除学费。
