Academic fees and other payments for the Academic Year 2017
Tuition Reduction Program for privately financed internationalstudentsRikkyo University reduces the tuition of privately financedinternational students who have “College Student” resident status afterenrollment and who face financial difficulty in pursuing university education,irrespective of the entrance examination system. Students who want to have theirtuition reduced must submit an application every year. The International Officeverifies whether each applicant is eligible by confirming their “CollegeStudent” resident status, and examines the necessity of tuition reduction byreviewing the applicant’s financial situation.
The reduced rate for 2017 is 30% of the tuition (rounded down to thenearest 100 yen). The program details and reduced rate are subject to changefrom year to year. Students who have exceeded the standard term of study, orthose who are on leave from their studies, will not be eligible for tuitionreduction. 国际私费生学费减免项目

Adoption of a sliding scaleTuition and education enhancement fee aresubject to change from year to year, based on a sliding scale. We consider theinflation rate, improvement of education and research conditions, etc., whenrevising the slide rate. We adopt the Consumer Price Index (CPI) released by theMinistry of Internal Affairs as the inflation rate, and regard the inflationrate as 0% if the CPI is less than 0%. The sliding scale has been temporarilysuspended.
Experiment and practical training fees are revised annually based on actualexpenses.

2.Tuition includes a semester enrollment fee (60,000 yen per semester,120,000 yen in total).
3.The Department of Global Business of the College of Business offersOverseas EAP, a short-term overseas study course that generally must be taken byall students in their first year. The cost is 550,000–600,000 yen and is paidfor separately from the student’s academic fees and other payments. (The totalcost is subject to change due to fluctuations in airfares and exchange rates).Also, there is a scholarship established in 2016 for those who participate instudy abroad programs (Rikkyo Global Scholarship). Students who enroll in theOverseas Study Program may receive up to 200,000 yen after screening.
4.The Department of Intercultural Communication of the College ofIntercultural Communication offers a class called Overseas Study Program, whichis completed by all students in principle in the fall semester of theirsophomore year. The cost ranges from 700,000 to 1,500,000 yen (actual amount in2016) and is paid in addition to the student’s academic fees and other payments.(The cost includes the basic program fee, accommodation fee and other fees butthe airfare, and is subject to change due to fluctuations in exchange, andincreases in fees by the host university.) Students can choose a host universityfrom the universities we offer in six language areas: English, German, French,Spanish, Chinese, and Korean, and the cost of study varies by university. Thepart of the total cost (350,000 yen) is to be paid in advance in May of theirfirst year. Students who participate in the Overseas Study Program will havetheir tuition and education enhancement fee for the sophomore year reduced by239,000 yen in total (estimated for 2017). Also, there is a scholarshipestablished in 2016 for those who participate in study abroad programs (RikkyoGlobal Scholarship). Students who enroll in the Overseas Study Program mayreceive up to 300,000 yen after screening.
