Applications from certain countries are acceptable and must be sent as"Registered Post by Air Mail."

Qualifications and Conditions
[1] Applicants for admission through a special entrance examination forinternational students must have a foreign nationality and fulfill either of thefollowing conditions:
1.Applicants must have completed 12 years of school education in countriesother than Japan. Those who have resided in Japan for 3 years or longer in totalduring the period of their junior and senior high school education are noteligible to take the special entrance examination for internationalstudents.

Admission is determined on the basis of the results of the Examination forJapanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), as well as thesubmitted documents. There is no written examination or interview.

Applications must be submitted by mail to Office of the Graduate Schools,Chuo University.
Applicants residing abroad at the time of application must have a proxy inJapan who will submit application documents by post on behalf of theapplicant.

3.Applicants must be recognized by the Graduate School concerned as havingacademic ability equivalent to those who have graduated from a four-yearuniversity, and must be aged at least 22 years old.

硕士课程

Certificate of Japanese Proficiency: Applicants are required to submit anoriginal Certificate of Proficiency, including a test score for theJapanese-Language Proficiency Test given by the Japan Education Exchanges andServices or “Examination for Japanese University Admission for InternationalStudents” given by the Japan Student Services Organization; however, thosestudents applying for Doctor Courses in the following faculties are exempted:Economics; Science and Engineering; Letters; and Policy Studies. Please be awarethat score criteria are different for each graduate school as below. Forapplicants that have graduated from or completed other universities or graduateschools in Japan (including those who are expected to graduate or complete), theproficiency test score is optional.

For Doctor programs in Economics, Science and Engineering, Letters andPolicy Studies submission of a score is optional. The Master program in theFaculty of Letters does not have a score standard.

It presently has partnership agreements withover 110 institutions. The International Center, established in 1981 to promoteinternational exchange, supports and funds international exchange activitiescarried out by faculties, graduate schools, and research institutes.

Please note that most of the courses are taught in Japanese at ChuoUniversity. Even though, tehre are at present no specific requirements forJapanese language proficiency for non-dgree students. Also, we offer somecourses taught in English and other foreign language are offered at the Facultyof Law, Letters and Policy Studies. (Please be reminded that the Faculty ofScience and Engineering don't have courses offered in English, students who wishto study at the Facuty of Science and Engineering is required to have at leasetJLPT N3 level.)

Chuo University has been offering summer program for students interested inJapanese language and culture since 2002. At this moment, we are remodeling theprogram and we are NOT going to offer the Chuo Summer program in 2016. We hopewe can offer wonderful program in 2017.

Global LEAP Program
In 2017 Chuo University will begin its Global LEAP Program in cooperationwith Chuo’s domestic and overseas partner universities as part of the “GlobalInitiatives” established under the “Chuo Vision 2025”, a ten-year developmentplan of Chuo University. This interdisciplinary educational program aims tofoster students equipped with the abilities needed to play an active role in theglobalizing Asian region, a strategic focus of Chuo University, in order toenhance students’ international career opportunities. The Global LEAP Program isa cooperative, active learning program through which, in the first semester,students can learn about Asia’s common challenges while studying Environment andSocial Sustainability in the Global Lecture Series. In addition, during thesecond semester, LEAP offers internship opportunities at local companies andNGOs, while students are enrolled in one of Chuo’s eight partner universities infive different Asian countries .
