International Residence
Chuo University opened its International Residence in Hino, Tokyo in 2011,as part of the University’s efforts to promote internationalization. Not onlynew students but also already-enrolled students, privately funded internationalstudents, and international exchange students live together in an internationalresidence with a total of 64 private rooms and communal living spaces, wherethey communicate with one another and develop international perspectives. Inaddition, an international exchange residence with 94 all-in-one private roomswas opened in 2012. Both residences are designed for students to cook forthemselves, and enable students to support each other, enrich their knowledgeand broaden their perspectives (both have a resident house manager on call).

Shared Kitchen and Dining Facilities
The residence has a communal kitchen with the latest IH cookware, dishesand fridges. Computers, televisions and DVD players are available for shared useas well.
The shared dining room can be used for meetings and dinners of up to 20people.
There are shower rooms and laundry facilities (washing machines anddryers), as well as individual postboxes located nearby where students cancollect their mail.
With a resident house manager, students can feel safe and at home.

Private Rooms
The residence has a total of 64 private rooms arranged in suites of threerooms each. Rooms are equipped with small fridges, beds, desks, lighting, airconditioners, and internet access. For safety and enhanced privacy, each studenthas an electronic card-key for his or her own room. Through windows in eachroom, you can enjoy views of the surrounding lush greenery and live comfortably.Each suite is furnished with a toilet, shoe cupboard, and storage space.
There is a wide wooden deck in front of the residence where students canuse the space freely.

The Co-op is an organization run with union fees collected from members toserve the students and university personnel.
The Co-op shops sell necessities such as books, stationery supplies, andcomputers, and also provides a wide range of services including domestic andinternational travel arrangements, tickets, bookings for driving schools, andmutual society insurance.

Dining Facilities
On the Tama Campus there are dining facilities on every floor of theHilltop ’78 building. The cafeteria building offers a diverse selection offoods, such as Japanese and Western foods, noodles, coffee and tea, and fastfood.
There is also the Basu-Tei restaurant, which serves mainly Chinese food,and the Leaf café in the C Square Building serves light meals and beverages. TheCo-op operates canteens at the Korakuen Campus as well.

Health Management
To conform with the School Health Law, the University provides regularhealth examinations for students at the beginning of every April. As it is veryimportant that students have their health checked every year, this presents anexcellent opportunity for students to receive an annual health examination.
For prevention or early detection of disease or illness, further tests,including ultra-sound and electrocardiogram, are available should the results ofthe student"s regular health examination show the need. If more detailedexamination is necessary, the student will be referred to a specialist. TheHealth Center also provides counseling for students in need of advice onillness, disease, diet, or other health-related issues.

Medical Services
The Health Center offers medical examination primarily for internalmedicine, as well as first-aid treatment for external injuries and referral tospecialists. Costs for medical care are not covered by health insuranceprograms. However, costs related to medical treatment are based on standards setby the University, with costs for medication being comparable to those coveredby health insurance, and fees for examination being half those charged underhealth insurance coverage. These are some of the ways the burden of medicalcosts is less for students.

For students who have had a regular health examination, the Center providesspecial health examinations should they be required for classes. The Centerissues, upon request, a certificate of health needed for obtaining full-timeemployment, a scholarship, or part-time work, or participating in a sportsevent, in addition to providing tests for such things as measuring body fatproportion. The Health Center provides health-related information to thestudents through its website and paper magazine.
