1.International Academic Scholarship (September 2017/18)

Northumbria University offers an International Academic Scholarships schemeto reward outstanding academic achievement. International students, joiningfull-time courses, who have achieved very good grades in their highest previousacademic qualifications, may be eligible for a scholarship of £2,500, dependingon the grades you achieved.
The scholarships are offered as a reduction in the tuition fees, for thefirst year of study and apply to all full-time Bachelors, Masters and Researchdegree programmes.

Eligibility
You will qualify for a scholarship if:
You have an 'overseas' fee status
You are a self-funding student
You are studying on a full-time course
You would not qualify for a scholarship if:
You are sponsored for your tuition fees. If you secure sponsorship for yourtuition fees after an offer of scholarship has been made, then the scholarshipwill no longer apply
You are progressing to study at Northumbria from a partner university withwhom we have agreed reduced fees for progressing students
You have been awarded another scholarship or discount, except for an alumnidiscount and/or early payment discount/team northumbria scholarship

Criteria
Each student will be considered for a scholarship based on a range offactors including overall grades and individual subject grades, the level of thequalification, and the type of institution at which they studied. Qualificationsfrom all countries will be considered.

Application Process
There is no separate application process, your application for ascholarship is determined once we have received your application form andacademic documents from you. Details of any scholarship awarded to you will beindicated to you in your offer letter.

2.Early Payment Discount
早期支付打折
The University is offering new overseas students a discount where thedeposit for a degree programme is received by the University’s FinanceDepartment before the Early Payment Deadlines below. Continuing students,progressing to the next academic year of study, will need to pay their fullyear’s tuition fee before the below deadlines in order to be eligible for thediscount.
To ensure you receive the discount please allow enough time for funds toreach the UK and clear. As the discount is applied when the funds are processedin the UK we recommend you allow at least 12 days before the dates below if youare paying via one of Northumbria’s Regional Offices.

Deadlines for Payment
Eligibility
You will qualify for an early payment discount if you pay your deposit forthe academic year in advance of the above deadlines and meet all of thefollowing conditions:
You have already received an offer prior to payment
The tuition fee in your offer letter is more than £8,500
You are a self-funding student starting an academic degree or diplomaprogramme lasting at least one full academic year.
If you are undertaking an English Language and Study Skills programme youmust pay these fees in addition to the full deposit for your target programme.Asper the Terms and Conditions of Offer, you are required to fulfil 50% of yourtuition fee payment on or before the university enrolment. This includes theminimum deposit payments already made (i.e. your £5,500 deposit) and any otherpayment. If you haven’t paid the 50% of your tuition fee, you will be requiredto do so during the university enrolment.

Usually applicants for our Post Graduate Research Programmes are expectedto have at least an upper second class Honours degree (UK) or equivalent from anoverseas university, or a Masters degree in a relevant discipline.For applicantswhose first language is not English, you will need to meet our minimum scoresfor research programmes and the minimum component scores for degree level andabove courses.

What are Chevening Scholarships?
Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarshipprogramme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partnerorganisations. The Scholarships are awarded to outstanding scholars withleadership potential. Awards are typically for a one-year Master’s degree.

Have completed at least two years’ work or equivalent experience beforeapplying for a Chevening Scholarship;
Be able to obtain the correct visa, and receive an unconditional offer froma UK university;
Return to your home country at the end of your Scholarship.
