野三坡地处北京西部，河北省西北部，保定市涞水县境内。位于中国北方两大山脉(太行山脉和燕山山脉)交汇处。野三坡还有完整的地址遗迹，各类不整合面清晰，侵入岩、火山岩、沉积岩、变质岩各类岩石遗迹齐全，异常发育的构造节理、断层、褶皱等构造遗迹突出，山地夷平面、河流阶地各种拟态等地貌遗迹丰富多彩。
