Scholarships
Scholarships recognise the many ways in which our students are outstandingin their subject. Individuals may be able to apply directly or may automaticallybe nominated for awards.

1.The Barnett Pharmaceutical Sciences Scholarship

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, supported by NorbrookLaboratories Limited, offers the Barnett Pharmaceutical Sciences Scholarship forstudents who hold a confirmed conditional offer of a place on the MSc inPharmaceutical Sciences Programme.
The Scholarship will support a maximum of two scholars and will be used tocover the full amount of the scholars' tuition fees (up to a combined totalvalue of £10,000 per annum) with any remaining funds being paid directly to thescholar in support of living expenses.
The Barnett Pharmaceutical Sciences Scholarship is now closed forapplications. Information will be sent to all eligible students in Summer 2017with the scholarship(s) to be awarded in the academic year 2017/18.

2.IET Diamond Jubilee Scholarships 2017

Approximately 60 scholarships will be available, of at least £1,000 peryear, for up to three years for Bachelors and four years for MEng, to studentswho are about to start an IET accredited degree course in autumn 2017.
Winners will also receive free membership of the IET for the duration oftheir course, if not already received as an IET Academic Partner with theirUniversity. Scholarship winners are expected to be ambassadors for the IET andengineering.

Criteria for 2017 Scholarships
To be eligible for a Diamond Jubilee Scholarship you will need toachieve
3 'A's at A Level
3 'A' grade Advanced Highers
5 'A' grade Highers
International Baccalaureate Diploma at 36 points or above
Diamond Jubilee Scholarships are for UK residents only.
All applicants for IET Diamond Jubilee Scholarships must be about tocommence studying in Autumn 2017, on an undergraduate degree programme in the UKwhich has been accredited by the IET. The IET accredits programmes across adiverse spectrum, including electrical, electronic, manufacturing, mechanical,systems and software engineering and specialist areas such as bioengineering,nanotechnology and renewable energy. Before making your application, check thelist of CEng and IEng accredited programmes to make sure that your degree coursein the UK is accredited by the IET.
The absence of IET accreditation could mean that the programme isaccredited by another professional body, it is going through there-accreditation process or the university has not asked the IET to accredit theprogramme.
If your degree course is not accredited by the IET, you will not beeligible to apply for a scholarship.

How to Apply
Complete the online application form . Applications must be received by thedeadline. Changes to your application form can be made at any time up until thedeadline.
All applicants are advised to complete the application as much as possibleby 30 June 2017. Candidates will then only have to add their UCAS results andexamination results by 24 August 2017.

3.The Flax Trust Bursaries
Flax Trust 奖学金
The Flax Trust is offering a number of £1,000 bursaries for its businessplanning programme, leading to the award of the Advanced Diploma in SocialEnterprise. This is a part-time programme which is fully accredited, managed anddelivered by Ulster University.

4.The Ulster University Student Fund Scholarships and Awards
Applications to the Ulster University Student Fund for the academic year2016/17 are now closed. The Student Fund usually invites applications once ayear through email communications generally circulated in October of eachacademic year to all students and staff.
Applications are invited for the following categories:
• Gateway Scholarship (Full Time Undergraduate) - £1,000 for up to threeyears, excluding work placement year.
• Gateway Scholarship (Part Time Adult Learner) - £1,000 for one academicyear.
• Broadening Horizons Travel Bursary - awards are for travel only, insupport of academic studies, and will not normally exceed a maximum of £500.
• Sports Scholarship - £1,000 for one academic year.
• The Vice-Chancellor's Award - awards will not normally exceed £1,000, andmultiple awards to support a project will not normally be made. In the case ofan exceptional application/project an award of up to £5,000 may beconsidered.
• New England Alumni Association Boston Step-Up Scholarship - £1,000 peracademic year for a maximum of 4 years.
• Academic Excellence Awards - £500 awarded to the student in each of thesix Faculties who has scored the highest average mark in the first year of theirprogramme of study.

Hours of training, intense regimes and high level competition programmescan sometimes mean a sacrifice in examination performance.
The Scheme is designed to assist talented young athletes gain access to aquality education whilst attaining success at the highest levels within theirchosen sport by reducing the entry grades required for full-time undergraduatecourses.

The School of Law, supported by the Department of Justice, offers theAccess to Justice Scholarship to students on the LLM in Clinical LegalEducation. All LLM applicants invited for interview will be invited to apply forthe Access to Justice Scholarship.
The Scholarship provides full-fee support for scholars, with one of thescholars also benefitting from a maintenance grant. All LLM applicants invitedfor interview will be invited to apply for these scholarships.

Students taking the Advanced Medical Sensors willbe provided with information by their course director at the start of eachacademic year.
